What we’re building
Who are we?
Sound Hounds is a dog park advisory group helping establish a variety of great dog parks in Sound Puget Sound, Washington. We welcome your involvement. Currently we have about 600 people on our contact list. We also have about 3,000 signatures of people who support Sound Hounds, asking South Sound jurisdictions to designate and develop dog parks.
Sound Hounds began in August 2005 as the Rover Group, researching and helping the City of Olympia with a dog park feasibility study which was approved in October 2006. Afterwards, Rover Group changed its name to Sound Hounds to better reflect its local identity.
Sound Hounds focus is park development, outreach, and fundraising.
Sound Hounds has nine Board members including President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Fundraising Chair, Volunteer Chair, Outreach Chair, Park Development Chair, and Past President.
Contact President Lynn Scroggins at olyscroggins@comcast.net or call (360) 943-2119 for more information and/or ways to get involved. We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, 6:30 – 7:30 pm, at Kevin and Skie’s home, 6:30pm, 1417 Brandon Ct NE, Olympia, WA 98506, 705-2620. All are welcome!
